The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freep.com\/article\/20121018\/NEWS06\/121018034\/National-Wildlife-Federation-Enbridge-Energy-oil-spills\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit Free Press has reported on the story<\/a>, as has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michiganradio.org\/post\/report-oil-pipeline-plans-put-michigan-vacation-destination-risk\" target=\"_blank\">Michigan Radio<\/a>. Even the <a href=\"http:\/\/green.blogs.nytimes.com\/2012\/10\/18\/aging-pipeline-poses-threat-to-great-lakes-report-says\/\" target=\"_blank\">New York Times has a piece on it this morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And over at the Wildlife Promise blog, our friend Beth Wallace writes more about it, and links to the full report. <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nwf.org\/2012\/10\/enbridge-threatens-freshwater-drinking-source-for-million-of-people\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check it out<\/a>. It&#8217;s important stuff.<\/p>\n<p>One little observation about all of this: the <em>NY Times<\/em> spoke with the <a title=\"On Enbridge\u2019s \u201copen and honest dealings\u201d\" href=\"http:\/\/grangehallpress.com\/Enbridgeblog\/2012\/09\/12\/on-enbridges-open-and-honest-dealings-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\">now-infamous (to us) Enbridge spokesman Larry Springer<\/a>, who has this to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI think it\u2019s interesting that they\u2019ve gone to this extent, but they have not gotten their facts straight,\u201d Mr. Springer said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We find it interesting that Mr. Springer couldn&#8217;t be bothered to say which facts, exactly, NWF did not get straight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re very pleased to see that the report released by the National Wildlife Federation on the potential dangers of Enbridge&#8217;s aging Line 5, which passes through the Straits of Mackinac, is getting so much play in the media.
