This just in: the government of British Columbia has rejected Enbridge’s proposal for its Northern Gateway project. The bottom line, according to the B.C. Environment Minister: “Our questions were not satisfactorily answered [by Enbridge] during these hearings.”
One can’t help but wonder how the Line 6B “replacement” project might have been different had Enbridge been subjected to the same level of scrutiny here in the U.S. and Michigan.
If only a little more care could be put into land restoration, wouldn’t it be nice. I in southern Manitoba am still trying to get my land restored to usable state from the Southern Lites / Alberta Clipper lines installations in 2009/2010.
You get tired of the comments ” It was always like that” . Excuse me, but I have lived here all my life (60 years)and it was not like that!
I know that they have already spent more money on trying not to fix the problem than what I think would fix it.
That’s working with land owners, Enbridge style. Also, how many times have I heard ” We will restore the land to before construction state or better”. Ya right.
Keep up your good work. Gary
Guess the enbridge cover up videos at helppa. Org helped prove enbridge cant be trusted.
