Please share and attend: there will be two informational meetings this week, organized and led by landowners and citizens (NOT by ET Rover) for those concerned about the proposed ET Rover natural gas pipeline project and why it is wrong for Michigan and bad for landowners. Our friend Jeff Axt will present information about the project, its potential dangers, its likely devastating effects on private property owners– and what you can do about it.
Both projects are hosted by affected townships, which is (potentially) very promising news. We are hopeful that other townships will follow the lead of Brandon Township in passing formal resolutions of opposition to the proposed route. If municipalities add their voices to those of individual property owners both ET Rover and FERC will have no choice but to listen. Information for the meetings is below, please let your neighbors know and try to make it to one of them yourself. Let’s urge our township boards to standup and then support and thank them for their leadership.
Rose Township says there will be NO representatives from ET Rover at the meeting. We assume the same is true in Groveland.

I attended the meeting last night in Rose twp. A gentleman stood up and stated that detailed pipeline maps could be viewed on the FERC website. I’m having no luck finding any maps whatsoever.
Hi Kelly- I have not tried this yet, but here is how another landowner found the maps:
Go to: http://elibrary.ferc.gov/idmws/search/fercgensearch.asp
Type in the Docket No.: pf14-14
Scroll down to the filing date of 20140729. At the right, there is a list of files. Click on the one that says: more files- see list.
Hope that works for you.
Thanks for the info, Jeff! I had the opportunity to speak to Debra Carter today. She did verify that our property will not directly be affected by the pipeline (however it is still entirely possible that our property will be “needed” as an access road). I asked her if this line could be moved entirely away from Oakland county, and she did say that they are looking at possible re-routes. I asked when a final proposed line would be determined and Debra was fairly certain that the final proposed line will be determined next Friday (August 15th). Actually, she said that they moved survey crews out of my area (Rose Twp) this morning. I have a sinking feeling that they will not come up with an alternate route within the next week….
Oh, I was also able to view the proposed pipeline maps on the FERC website. I started printing them out and piecing them together! 🙂 Thanks again!
In the above link does Anyone know were they show
Livingston county?
Unfortunately, I don’t think there is any easy way to find Livingston County. I had to open multiple “Midwest Hub to International Border” pdf files to actually find Rose twp in Oakland County. And even then, the maps only center on the specific part of the county that the proposed route goes through.
If I have more time later I can take a look for you. What are your cross streets in Livingston County?
We need to start holding some citizens’ meetings in Lapeer County! Any ideas how to go about this? Where to hold them to accommodate a large crowd? A lot of talk in Metamora Tuesday night but no action thus far.
Hi- just an update, Almont township is having a meeting tonight to discuss a resolution against ET Rover. Go Almont! Anyone that can attend, please do!
Also, Almont township has just added a blog to their website for comments!
Another update, I opened the Sept 22 (tonight) meeting agenda for Elba Township (seems like they would have put out a clear notice to residents) and it looks like their discussing a resolution against ET Rover also! People need to go!
Atlas Township Board (Goodrich – Genesee County) adopted a resolution opposing ET Rover pipeline proposed project in Atlas Twp.
Great news Shirley! Hope more in Genesee follow your lead.
We are currently working to establish a town hall meeting in Atlas Twp. or a nearby community that can comfortably “hold” a large group of interested people, possibly high school auditorium. I attended a “fracking meeting” a few months back in Forest Township (Otisville) and they had a great panel of speakers. I would like to recreate this panel with maybe a few others to discuss pipelines. Can anyone share names of individuals who might be interested in being on the panel?
